Title: HOLYDAYS & HOLIDAYS: THE ORDINARY FIR TREE
The ordinary fir tree grows up in the forest side by side with another tree who is fuller and finer than he. Yet, his own great wish is to someday be fine enough and tall enough to be used as a Christmas tree. When he is finally large enough to be cut down, he is taken with the other trees to a shopping area to be sold. Finally, late on Christmas Eve, a man and a boy buy him. When he gets to their home he sees that they already have his fine friend from the forest as a Christmas tree. The little tree worries when they take him to the basement and cut off all his branches. He soon learns that they intend him to be a wreath. He is hung high on the house to offer Christmas cheer to all who pass by. He is very happy that he has been given such a special assignment. To reach our dreams we must go through difficulty and experience discouragement. We may feel like giving up. But eventually things work out, though often not in ways we expect.
