Title: LIFE OF THE BELOVED: SPIRITUAL LIVING IN A SECULAR WORLD - CD 2 OF 2
Disc 2 contains Chapter 2 (continued) - Epilogue. How does one live a spiritual life in a secular world? Henri Nouwen responds from the depths of his heart to this dilemma. Nouwen uses Jesus' experience in baptism, 'You are my beloved Son,' and Jesus' life example of living as God's beloved, chosen, blessed, broken and given for the whole world to help readdress themselves as God's beloved. As Nouwen ponders God's love, he first addresses being the beloved and listening for the still voice within. Then he probes becoming the beloved and uses simple concepts of taken, broken and given. In the final section, he speaks about living as the beloved. In this spiritual attitude, he develops the theme that we are gift for others not only in life but also in death. As an example, he says. "Francis of Assisi died in 1226, but he is still very much alive! His death was a true gift...his life goes on bearing new fruit around the world."
