Title: INFANT BAPTISM: A GIFT TO THE COMMUNITY
This presentation offers insight and imagery to parents about to have their child baptized. In the story, a father and his adult son argue over the family business. The conflict occurs as the son and his wife plan to celebrate their own child's Baptism. The interdependence between parent and child, as well as the passing on of family values and traditions, reinforce what the teaching segment will stress, namely how infant Baptism is not only an incorporation into the Body of Christ, but also allows the parish community to see its own relationship to God reflected in the relationship between parents and infant. In the witness segment, lay ministers in a parish baptismal program share their experience and suggestions for parents. The program concludes with the song entitled "Purest Praise". It calls to mind how Baptism is a celebration for our children as well as for the whole community. For Free Leader's Guide: Catalog.AmericanCatholic.org/guide Also available as video vc 1863
